We are off on holiday in January and are looking for a hotel for the night before we fly and parking for 14 days close to Gatwick South terminal.
I have been looking at several " discounted" websites which are very much the same as far as costs are concerned.
The Hilton hotel does do parking and a nights stay for £180 but thats just too dear, especially as the hotel doesnt get very good reviews.
Can anyone recommend a hotel in walking distance of the South terminal that is good value?
As for the parking,i shall keep looking around for a deal close by.

There is only the Hilton and the Courtyard by Marriott that are within walking distance. The Marriott should be around £90 for a twin room and 15 days parking, they drive the car to an off airport car park. Some quite good prices in the Gatwick area, some you park on site and some at a car park near the airport. Check transfer costs from hotel to airport and back.0

hello
There are many good quality B&B's in Horley (all less than a mile from gatwick airport) that include accomodation, breakfast, car parking whilst away and free transfers to and from airport.
These are significally cheaper than the hotels and have the bonus of you being able to walk to pubs and restaurants the night before for more varied choice of meals/drinks.
I have stayed at the Turret Guest House and it was a very good http://theturret.com/0 -
I came on to recomend the Turret but see the previous poster was ahead of me. We paid about £85 in Aug for a triple room inc breakfast and the owners take you to and pick you up from the airport, great value0

In terms of parking only try APH they will transport you to and from the terminal...Their rates have always been very competative and we usually stay at the holiday inn express ib crawley..again usuallt cheap and breakfast as well.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
Thanks for the help so far - i will look into the hotel you mention.
Last year we splashed out and stayed at the Hilton with the parking package. The convenience was great as we could drop off our cases the night before and walk back to the hotel etc but it was expensive for what it was - the reviews on tripadvisor say it all.
This year we are looking for something cheaper and better value.0 -
try https://www.holidayextras.co.uk . you can usually get a hotel for the night and 2 weeks parking for less than 2 weeks parking .
Travel lodge is on the south side . it's what you would expect in terms of quality. we have stayed there without issue every time we flew from Gatwick . pretty sure we used Holiday extras each time
we haven't been for a few years , but the parking deal was that you parked in hotel grounds overnight , then drove 5 mins down the road to a car parking lot on the airport in the morning . you were then shuttled to your terminal ( for Free) from parking lot . takes about 10 mins depending on traffic and which terminal you want . on return you catch the same free shuttle back to your carBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
We used the Ambers Guest House. The owner will take you to the airport whatever the time, will even drive you to the local pub for dinner and cook your breakfast before you go!
There are lots of hotels and B&B's in Horley which is only minutes from Gatwick but we booked Ambers because it was no.1 on trip adviser and we weren't disappointed.
It doesn't beat being able to check in your luggage the night before but most airlines let you check in on line and then you just use the bag drop on the day.The Cabbage
