Friday evening I knelt on the floor to reach a light switch and with a gentle crack my week-old Kindle no longer worked.
Saturday morning I called Amazon's Kindle support:
Tuesday morning courier delivered a new Kindle.
Tuesday evening I downloaded the ebooks I had bought from my archive onto the new Kindle (so that's what it's for), they even had the bookmarks to show where I had read to.
I'll just have to keep an eye on the CC but I'm not expecting them to take the charge for it.
Saturday morning I called Amazon's Kindle support:
Me - I knelt on my Kindle and broke it, can it be repaired and if not can I reload the ebooks I've bought onto a replacement one?
Amazon Bloke - Can you give me your details sir?
Me - OK, blah blah di blah.
AB - Thank you, that is still within the 30-day warranty, I can order a new one to be sent to you. If you pack the broken one and stick on the label I'll email you then you can arrange for our courier to pick it up. You can download the ebooks you've bought onto the new one and you won't have to pay for them again. We'll put a reservation on your CC for the full amount in case you don't return the broken one.
Me - Thank you very much!

Somewhat, but it really dropped through the floor when I thought "How do I tell Mrs RP that I've bust the birthday present she gave me a few days ago?"loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
I have to say Amazon are the best i brought a game on there the other day and the day they shipped it out the price went down, I sent a nice email off not excepting them to refund the difference but within 10 mins i had a reply saying they would apply it on.Jan Wins: .0

Makeandsave - I bought a book or something off Amazon last Christmas and had an email a week or two later saying "remember you bought this product? Well it's cheaper now so we're refunding you".
I didn't even know, it was a nice surprise!I love surprises!0 -
You're lucky it was in the 30 day warranty that's for sure. Have a look at the reviews for the extended warranty on amazon, lots of unhappy people0

very lucky considering it was your negligence in "dropping" it that they replaced it. Absolute result0
