Me & my partner are moving into a two bedroom terrace in a couple of weeks but have no clue about bills what would be the cheapest plan for us to go & who with for electricity & gas

I have heard you can pay a fixed rate per month or year, the people who live in the house say they are with eon & it costs them £60 a month but they hardly use the heating yet my friend says she uses someone called scottish somthing & they pay £65 a month & use the heating all the time. I am very confused

  • I've recently changed to M&S energy, they were cheaper and I got vouchers for changing over which added to the discount.
I am happy to receive responses to my posts, however I will ignore any that are flaming/trolling.

Write down the date and meter readings as part of checking-in.

Since the existing supplier is E.On, I would say SaveOnline 4 is a good bet, if you can't be bothered to switch.

If E.on are providing both gas and electricity then you will benefit from their discount for dual fuel tariffs. They do offer fixed rate tariffs, but bear in mind it is a fixed rate per kWh, not a fixed charge regardless of how much you use. The advantage of fixed rates is that they won't increase the amount you pay per kWh over the period it is fixed for. Of course you pay a bit more for that, but at least you get peace of mind that the rate won't increase until the contract period ends. Look online at e.on's website for their current tariffs.

    Hi bronzedg,

Just thought I would try and offer a bit of info for you.

As you are movning in to a property supplied by E.ON, they will automatically be your supplier when you take over responsibility of the house.

You need to contact E.ON when you move in with your details and the meter readings from your move in date.

I would also advise you to ask about tariffs and what the best one is for you, to make sure you are billed on this from the start.

You can also pop the usage details in to a comparison site to check out all suppliers and tariffs.

If you need any more info, just let me know.

    Helena :)
