Colchester Gazette bans letters about PPC's
Colchester's 'Gazette' newspaper has adopted a 'no reply' stance to articles regarding Private Parking Companies.
Basically, late last year, they ran a series of news items about people complaining of being ticketed by PPC's. Their website has a 'comment on this article' button, so several of us did. In my case I refered to the various websites where help could be found. They also published a few letters in the paper from people giving advice on how to deal with the tickets.
Now however, when they publish a news item on the same subject, they remove the ability to leave comments on their website, and refuse to publish letters either.
If you would like to let the Editor know what you think about the 'ban' then email them at -

Hopefully with enough people complaining to them, they may remove their self-imposed ban.

It seems people are becoming touchy about this at the moment more here!

Perhaps a few of us MSE'ers should dress up as PPC wardens and record a version of Monty Pythons 'Spam' song, only using the word 'Scam' instead. We could all wave mock-ups of PPC PCNs.
I've got a bit of time on my hands if anyone else is interested.Never Knowingly Understood.
