ipad or galaxy tab advice needed please

Hi

i am looking to buy my husband one of the above for xmas and have read good and bad points on both of them,so i am after a bit of advice as i don't know which to go for.

he already has a netbook and an iphone but wanted to get him one of the above as a treat for working hard etc and i know he would never buy himself one.

he would use it for browsing the internet,emails etc but would also possibly take it to work (have been told he can use his iphone to connect to internet?)

i really don't know which to choose,what are the main differences,good/bad points of both?
is the ipad just a big iphone lol,is the samsung better for viewing the internet?

well the Tab is more of a big phone than the ipad as the tab can make phone calls whereas the ipad connot.

there are points for both, the ipad will work with all the apps he has on the iphone, but the Tab will give him a different platform for more apps and he can watch flash in the internet browser.

personally I would discuss it with him and see which he prefers as no-one can tell you which platform he likes more other than him.

If he really likes one of them, buy one, but just do the research. Don't buy an iPad and find that it won't do flash, and don't buy a Galaxy to find out it's a lot smaller than the iPad!
These are only the 1st 2 tablets, more, and better to come. Blackberry PlayPad is a blatant rip off of WebOS BTW...

I'd prefer the Galaxy (SIM slot, expandable memory, flash) but as an iPhone owner, he might prefer to stay with Apple products for compatibility. Difficult call if you want to suprise him, unless you can buy from a source which stocks both and is happy to do a gift exchange if he'd preferred the other one.
