Glow Worm Betacom 30 Boiler HELP

Hello All,
Don't know if there is anyone here that can offer us some advise. The boiler packed in about a month ago, I had hot water but no heating. The Gas Man came and fitted a new convertor valve which fixed the problem, but since then I cannot control the boiler using the controls, so I have to switch it on and off at the mains switch.
Gas man was supposed to come back but has let me down twice now, he thought it might be the circuit board ????
Is there anyone here that can give us some pointers. My husband has tried to check wiring but to be honest the instruction booklet is not that user friendly and there is nothing on the Internet of any use.
I have now taken out a BG Homecare contract at £3.00 pm with £99.00 call out charge for parts and labour, but I will have to say that it has just suddenly stopped working, but won't they know it has been left unfixed by someone else (not British Gas Man)
Any advise much appreciated, I feel we are in no mans land now and just wish I had gone with BG from the beggining, but we have used the guy many times in the past so its disappointing to say the least. It has cost me £200 so far, and the way things are going, it might be cheaper to get a new boiler.
Thanks again and sorry for the woffle.

If your query is about the heating (got a bit confused) then you should check the thermostat, programmer and make sure the rads are all in working order (bleed them and balance them).
If all fails, call the man who done the job and tell him that it is not in working order, If he is a respectable and genuine guy he should come back and sort it, usually free of cost as he has left the job unfinished.0 -
The Rads and hot water is working fine but I cannot control this from the conrols on the boiler so have to switch it off at the mains
I wondered if anyone had any idea what problem could be.
This Gas Man is someone we know and I have lost count how many times we have called him, he was supposed to visit last Thursay am, but never showed up and doesn't return any of our phone calls.0
