Credit files a mess what to do?

My question is this which banks can I go to once I am on the voters at my new place 1 december i will get a confirmation letter from the local authority. I was thinking waiting until March 2011 before applying so that previous searches from my previous place drop off.

I have 17 accounts total showing on my experian 4 of them are defaults from 2007/08 4 accounts have been settled/closed one account has been open since 2006 thus giving 4 years positive history!.

All the rest have been opened early 2009 or later so only giving 12mths at best.

I have always been on the voters since 1995 but and heres the big but! I changed my name by deed pool twice from my birth name and as such I now have aliases 25 of them on my report.

From 1995-2002 i was at my mums at that stage I had a class credit record!, since then however I have moved alot 18mths on voters then three addresses in 2005 including my mums again!.

Then 2007 leaving being registers 18mths under one name and then 2yrs under another then april 2009 to current. Now I have moved obviously I registered and wait to be confirmed.

All in all I have always been traceable on the voters but moving addresses wont help I know.

Another thing is I have another deed poll name and address! now the only reason I did it was because I knew with the number of defaults I had I wouldn't even get basic credit.

Now I realise that 35% of your credit score is account history I have 13 accounts in the other name from 20 which I can deed poll back to my birth name but the accounts which are ok carry around 5k of debt 7k total credit limits etc.

What should I do put them all together pay them and wait until like 2013/14 for the defaults to all drop off?

Or just keep the accounts now and transfer once the defaults have dropped in 2-3 years time??

You want to open a new bank account? Are all your previous accounts stopped or defaulted?

If all your aliases appear on your report then it makes no difference what you do. Your aliases won't disappear and for any new account you try to open the bank/potential lender will be able to see all your files and records.

If you are worried you won't be able to open a new bank account because of your credit history you could consider a basic bank account - which are offered by all the high street banks.
