How can I build my dream home telephone system?

I've finally gotten my BT telephone line installed side-by-side with my NTL telephone line and its time to start some seriously geeky stuff.
So, Ive got an ansaphone and a digital cordless phone, each plugged into different phone lines. Also have a sipgate account, an ADSL VOIP router, two orchid diallers and a yen to inter-connect the lot.
Basically, I want to end up with my own cheap-as-chips PABX/PBX where a call to any of my lines comes through to a real phone and a call from any of my real phones is routed via the cheapest provider.
Any ideas?

It would be lot simpler just to dream of having a single handset as your phone system...

Once upon a time, I dreamt the same .. I've had Orchird dialer, Voip ATA, two DECT phones .. and thinking of going for asterisk .. I failed miserably .. Now, I'm happy with my Linksys SPA3000 .. NTL & Sipgate for incoming calls, VOIPStunt or NTL for outgoing .. nothing fancy, I need to prefix my NTL call out.. asterisk is the answer .. but it way to complicated .. even for techie person like me

Yep, Asterisk is probably the only option...
