How to dress a child as a bear

Just realised that it's Children in Need on Friday and the kids (ages 6 and 4) have been asked to come into school dressed as a bear.
Any thoughts how we could do it?
Preferably (a) low-cost, (b) easy to make (sewing on Beaver's badges is about our limit!) and (c) achievable by Friday.

brown trousers/top and jumper make apair of ears and stick them on a hairband/ bears nose made from egg box with elastic to hold it on and maybe some big gloves for bears paws:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

How about dressing as Pudsey Bear? A couple of years ago I bought a Pudsey bandana in Asda for about £1 or so, I'm not sure if they're doing them again this year, but you could easily make one with a square of white cotton material with circles drawn on and coloured in with felt tips (perhaps your little'uns could oblige by helping with this bit!).
Do you have a 'party shop' locally? I bought some Minnie Mouse ears in mine a few weeks ago for £1.09 (long story!) and I think they also had teddy ears available. Or failing that, two home made ear shapes in material or even coloured-in paper or cardboard attached to a cheap plastic headband would do it.
As for an outfit, I would imagine a full size furry suit is out of the question, but how about normal clothes in the same colour, or a cheap fleece type jumper?
That's it, I'm out of ideas now! Good Luck!

we have to dress them in something spotty. we dont have anything in the house like that
i was thinking felt tip spots on an old polo shirt?0 -
I'd be a bit annoyed personally, I've seen people saying their kids need to wear something spotty or something yellow but to ask them to dress as a bear seems a bit unreasonable as I'd imagine most people would either need to buy or make something to achieve that. Though I suppose it depends how much notice they gave you! In town last week I saw some pudsey ear headband type things, I think it was in Gregg's actually, they were a quid or two.
Edit: OK £2.50. There's people selling them on ebay with bids at £8.50!!!:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls
I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

our school has just asked them to come as something beginning with the letter 'p' my eldest is going as a popstar which is easy, and youngest is going as puss in boots already had the cat costume in her dressing up box so no outlay and an easy year for me this year:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

I agree that the school's request is a little on the ambitious side. Seems crazy to spend considerable money on a costume to then donate 50p to the charity!
Like the idea of Pudsey ears from Greggs. We've got one in our local parade, so fingers crossed they're taking part.0 -
The cheapest and most appropriate option would be to make a pudsy type mask.0
