Do you have a software restore disk that came with it?( Dell sometimes supply them sometimes not).
If so boot the computer from the CD and it will restore the operating system and all the programs that were on it originally.

It think it depends how old your puter is.
Norton Ghost is available on Dell Dimension™ and Inspiron™ systems that shipped on or after Oct. 18, 2005 in the Americasand 18 Feb. 2006 in Europe.

    Instructions here. ;)

ok, you could struggle then, also be careful with dells as most of our company run on dell and when they get reimaged (complete wipe and restore of windows) they tend to lose their visual and network drivers. So if you have a small home network then you wont be able to connect to the internet without reinstalling the network card drivers

  • hmm harder than i thought all i want to do is get rid of the old rubbish that is on there anyone got any other suggestions that i could do rather than a total reboot
