Does any have the details of a FREE on-line converter for MP2 files to MP4.
I want to convert the recorded programs on my Humax box such that I can play them on a portable DVD player.
Thanks

If you can figure out where the download link is (I gave up lol) then 'Super' is a brilliant video conversion tool. Pretty much any format known to man.

Edit - found it! Try this page

Probably the worst website design you'll see, but don't let that put you off.0 -
Thanks, but that link had Malware installed.
Any others anyone?0 -

That's OK.
So, will your DVD player really play mp4 files or does it just play DVDs?Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
Yes that's what I understand, it will play MP4 from a USB.0

MPEG-2 is the native format used by DVD players. The .ts file is a transport stream, a format designed mainly for broadcast TV such as standard definition Freeview. If your DVD player won't recognise the .ts file try renaming it to a .mpg file and try it again. If it won't play or stutters - the extra information in the .ts file can confuse some players - then you need to strip those extra packets of information out. This will be much faster than transcoding the file to an mp4 file. PVAStrumento will do this for you.
If you want to create an mp4 file then Handbrake is the usual choice. I'd avoid Super as it has an, ahem, reputation...0 -
if either handbrake or Format Factory cannot do it then nothing can0

FYI, the last time I looked, Super doesn't work with 64 bit, which is becoming more popular.
I don't do much of this but have had success with

It does have an annoying screen back to the website every time you open it.Move along, nothing to see.0
