Mis-description on Autotrader and Dealer Website ?

Bought a car at the weekend that was advertised with Parking Sensors but realised today when reverse parking there is no Parking Sensors fitted ?

Autotrader.co.uk and Dealer Website both advertise the car i purchased had Parking Sensors.

I haven't called the Dealer yet to see whatthey have to say.

Do they have to provide Parking Sensors as per their description ?

Thank you for your time.

    if advertised as such, then yes they should. make sure you print the pages off before they disappear. the only problem you may have is there's always the old "E&OE" chestnut, and if you've been to look at it, the fact that you may have signed a contract that in the small print says you've checked the car and it's condition and you are happy with it. if the deal was over the phone, you hadn't visited the site and had it delivered to you (ie, no physical contact with the dealership) then distance selling reg's apply, and you can reject it.

    you have checked that they aren't just turned off haven't you.... there are some that fit "invisibly" behind the bumper and a lot of them have disable switches. worth checking before ranting at a salesman and they point the switch out :)
  • ask the question it mite b a mistake by the dealer but if it is then ask the dealer if they r going give you a part refund for that mistake or some other form of retribution ie a free mot or service

  • I've noticed on a few of the dealer listings that are compiled through Autotrader (with technical specs and equipment lists), the spec lists are often slightly wrong - this included a car I traded in - when i checked the listing they put up, a lot of the equipment listed wasn't actually on the car (I knew as it had been mine).

    Then, at the bottom, it said this....
    Please note
    The data displayed above details the usual specification of the most recent model of this vehicle. It is not the exact data for the actual vehicle being offered for sale and data for older models may vary slightly. We recommend that you always check the details with the seller prior to purchase.
    * Fitted as standard

    So if you went and test drove the car and checked it, then you probably should have checked it had all the kit you thought it did.

    If not, you should have asked the question.
