Xmas Crackers !

Going to Salzburg for Christmas ..travelling with Ryanair
Wondering am I allowed to bring Xmas Crackers in my hand luggage. I have a feeling that the answer might be no!

It's ok, I've just found out from Ryanair's FAQ that the answer is NO!:(

christmas crackers are effectively classed as explosives, so would be hard to take on ANY flight.

Many large carriers will happilly take Christmas crackers as checked in baggage provided they are still sealed in their original package, so I don't know why Ryanair won't allow it.
(probably because they haven't found a way to charge extra yet)

my mom asked the same question-apparently you can..just without the bit that goes bang:rotfl:
my mom also got interogated through customs as she said she had bath-bombs, cue a load of staff investigating her wedding favours from lush:eek:
