about the worst 2 cereals you can eat to get elevated insulin levels, far worse than special K

the bran flakes, shredded wheat and weetabix are all pretty low GI

Actually, bran flakes, weetabix and shredded wheat are high GI.

Just about any food has some cons about it. I eat them cos I like them!

Pinkstars - yes, it worked. Lost about five pounds or so. Both times I was getting ready for a special event and just wanted to look a bit better!
  • Interesting......and yes I did have my cereal for breakfast Pinkstars. I had another bowl of SK at lunch. :D

But I'm just home and absolutely starving!!!!! I'm having a chicken breast with rice and veg for tea. I'll see how I feel after that.

This seems to hard to be honest. Even if I am just doing it for two weeks.

I'm doing it to kickstart me into more healthy habits. You know, like passing up on the packet of crisps and having an apple instead.
    Need to start again :o

ive never ate special k for health reasons, but i find it very sweet and not very filling. id much rather eat a bowl of porrige or cold oats with some soya yoghurt for the similar amount of calories, and more nutrition.

Exactly the same.. it's too easy to reach for junk food! Going shopping this weekend, going to stock up on "healthy" items..
  • How is it going Pinkstarsx?

I'm doing alright I think. I haven't had a packet of crisps since last Friday. Must be a record for me!!!
    Need to start again :o
  • I'm going to start it Monday! ;) Will be going shopping this weekend for cereal and fruit etc.
Only problem with fresh food is it goes off so quickly :rotfl:So will have to nip to supermarket every few days.
Definately going to resist chocolate for 2 weeks, that's my biggest downfall!

i have tried this that often but by about day 3 i get bored
  • I must admit I am bored! But credit where it's due I've continued with the breakfast/lunch thing and had a healthy dinner. I've only eaten one packet of crisps and they were weight watcher tortilla chips. I've eaten fruit for snacks and not eaten after 6pm. Cut out wine. Feeling pretty good about it, if I do say so myself :D

Pretty dodgy scales at home, but I reckon I've lost 2lbs.
    Need to start again :o
