Hi :jHas anyone tried the Special K diet for two weeks and managed?
I did it wrong today because instead of SK for breakfast and lunch, I had a pasta salad for lunch.
When I came home I had a bowl of SK then finished off the tuna pasta I had made for the kids LOL

I have not but I would strongly advise weighing what you eat as most people eat way more then the suggested amount!
I'd worry about your blood sugar levels on this diet but its up to you weather or not you chose to do it. Just bare in mind that whatever you do, you need to carry on doing it to keep the weight off so if your suddenly eating XXXX kcals a day on this diet, you need to stick to somewhere around that (maybe slightly more?) when your done losing weight or you risk putting it all back on again!0 -
I would like to try this too.. always meant to but never have!:o0

This is an ok diet like all the other "quick fix" diets (slimfast, etc), that are fine to do for a couple of weeks if you want to lose a few pounds fast. Like if you have a special occasion coming up.
They are no good for long term weight loss because as soon as you switch back to regular meals, anything you have lost will come straight back on. Probably more too.0 -
The amount of sugar in Special K scares me...£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit
) - £588

Any quick weight loss diet means that when you go back to normal eating the pounds come back too. It's ok to do it fit into something for an occasion but long term?" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

I want to try it to see if it works.. i know it's not a long term solution!
Would be nice to feel abit slimmer for the work Christmas bash!

Then go for it! I have done it a few times. A couple of little tips I picked up are not to actally use Special K. As another poster said, it very high in sugar. I use bran flakes, cornflakes, rice Krispies, shredded wheat and weetabix and mix them around (not in the same bowl, but one for breakfast, different one for lunch).
I also weigh the cereal, cos the amount you are "supposed" to have is different from what you pour into the bowl if left to your own devices!
I also snack a little bit on fruit. Keeps your metabolism up better cos you can then avoid going long periods without eating.
Good luck!0 -
Thank you!! Did you found it worked for you?
One of my colleagues is going to do it with me so that should make things abit easier! Will be buying lots of fruit & maybe some low fat yoghurts for snacking on.
Going to find it hard at lunch time. Working in an office sitting down all day i tend to snack on junk when possible!
ForeverHopefull - have you had your cereal this morning lol?0 -

the adverts make me laugh. the amount they have in the bowl is probably the equivalant of 4 portions0
