Parking Eye ticket

15 days ago my partner decided it would be a 'great idea' to park in a disabled space as it was only 'for a few minutes'. Needless to say we returned to a parking ticket. We decided to wait and see if anything came in the post as it was a private company and today we recieved our invoice from ParkingEye.

I have read a lot of the posts and understand that we should ignore the notice but my concern is that we were incorrectly parked so should it come to it and we have to go to court we wouldn't have a case?

Has anyone had a case like this and what was your outcome? Should I ignore it? I'm new to this and a little anxious but we just can't afford to pay any fine let alone an inflated one!

Thanks in anticipation. :(

Ignore. It won't go to court. Parking Eye don't do court. In fact, they don't pursue their tickets for long at all. You can expect no more than a couple of letters before they go away.

Although I would not condone parking in a disabled bay. The bays in private car parks are only courtesy. The PPC make their own rules up. As above ignore them.
  • Thanks. I don't condone it either believe me and it won't be happening again! Pleased to hear your reply tho.
  • i did the same thing (in error) have just ignored 2 letters so far, they come quite quick so from what people have said on here only a couple more and then in the clear (hopefully !!!)
i know what you mean it is quite scary but keep checkin on here for reassurance. my thread is 'stupid mistake' if you are interested x
  • Thanks wendyb126! It is reassuring to know I am not the only one in this situation. As you are a few steps ahead I will wait with baited breath to see how you get on. Fingers crossed xxx
  • we are also ignoring PE, 4 months so far and only 3 basic letters...

It's already been deemed that the charge is unenforceable because the amount is not a genuine pre-estimate of losses incurred.

Relax. This is Parking Eye anyway - they don't do court.

Thought I'd add to the list - I've had two letters so far and am awaiting the rest. Very annoyed as I was 'caught' when a local hotel introduced a new system that required you to leave your registration number ar reception. I wouldn't mind but I was at the hotel on business anyway.
