in Credit cards
Last week i applied for a Student Credit Card, even though i have already graduated, and i've realised that the maximum credit limit is not as big as i want. This is the first credit card i have applied for.
If i apply for a 'normal' credit card now, will this affect my credit card rating, even though the student credit card i have just recieved has not yet been activated?

Two searches will be recorded that will remain visible for 12 months so yes, will have an affect on your credit rating. Not necessarily in any massively negative way.
An alternative is to make do with the card you've already been given, wait 6 months, then ask them to increase the credit limit."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0
