Hi, can you advise please.
We've got 8 radiators in our house. One bedroom isn't being used now so if we turned the radiator off or down will it make the gas bill a bit lower or does it all cost the same due to the boiler running anyway?

It saves money if you don't heat a room.
So switching a radiator off will mean you use less gas. If it didn't and only depended on the boiler being on, then Buckingham Palace would cost no more to heat than a bedsit!
Essentially every radiator contains water. When it is switched on, your boiler has to heat that water. Let us say each radiator holds 3 litres of water, it is self evident that to heat 24 litres of water(8 rads) will take more gas than 21 litres(7 rads)0 -

Just watch out for condensation.0 -
It is cold out there isn't it - I'll just turn it down a bit, not all the way off.
The other day when I got up, in my room the condensation was on the outside - weird!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.
