Converting file endings.

Hi all, I hope someone can help me here!

I would like to transfer all of my video clips onto windows movie maker but i cant seem to import the video clips over. The files all end .MOV but I dont think windows movie maker supports this type of file. Is there anyway of converting them? Obviously I would prefer free ways of doing this in true moneysaving style but will consider paying for software if necessary.

They are Quicktime files.

Does that mean the file ending cant be changed? Sorry, i'm not very techie at all.

You use the program to convert the Quicktime file to the type of file that you can use in Movie Maker.

I recommend mpeg.

Sorry, i am going to look so dense now but i really cant work out how to use mediacoder to convert the files :doh:
