    Talk about ruin my weekend!

I have just come in and seen this "Your single tax credits claim - is it right?" letter and now i just feel sick!

Has anyone had the outcome of this, letter is quite upsetting as though they are accusing you of fraud already! My ex does not live with me but old letters still come here, i just put them in the bin or pass them to him, I feel so paranoid now.

Does anyone know the questions they ask you when you call the hotline?

    thanks!!:(
  • I have received one of these letters today and was straight on the phone to make sure everything was right and all records were correct. I assume i got this letter as someone else was classed as living here too but they were previous tenants. Although the lady i spoke too was ok with me i really did not like the intrusive questions asked.
Also on the letter it quotes you are classed as a couple if you ACT as a couple i.e. if other people class you as a couple.
Even if this is the case, surely if you and only you and your child live at your property and you solely pay your rent, bills etc with no help from anyone else how can they class that as being a couple and change your credit awards? I even thought this might be a hoax letter as it really does not make any sense!!!
