Sounds like the £750 will be money well spent given your situation.

Thanks matto. That's the opinion of OH, mum, dad, solicitor, anyone else I've spoken to. Pay up and be done with it. I'm starting to come round, just a bit miffed that my bank balance has gone down by £750.

Yep, you have to get to a stage where you say stuff it, have the £750 and be done with it.

Judging by your post I'd say you were way past that stage. Pay it through gritted teeth and enjoy your new flat.

PrincessG, you poor thing it sounds like an absolute nightmare!. Good thing is you are very nearly out of the other side now so let it all flow over you and think of the exciting stuff to come.

Situations like this really annoy me, you would be surprised how many vendors at the last second pull stunts like this, just trying to squeeze the last penny out of the buyer.

Personally this is where I think a good EA comes into their own, keeping a chain together can be a difficult task!.

There are as many vendor as buyers who pull the same stunts at the last minute, its unfortunate we dealing with human nature when it comes to buying and selling. Anyway what goes around comes around and one day they will get theirs.

    Good luck with your move

  • I think you did the right thing today for what its worth. Your vendors sound like right pratts but I would have just paid to get the house and them out of your life! Let us know tomorrow if all goes well. Good luck.
  • You did the right thing. What's £750 when you have found your dream place and you'll hopefully be living there for some time, divide the £750 up and it's nothing. Wishing you a lovely life in your new home.

What happened then did you pay it??
