I am looking to do a shoebox or 2 for Christmas and have just looked at the Operation Christmas Child but they have to be in by this thursday and I dont have time to do it before then :-( are there any other similar charities for children that I can have a look at?
Also does anyone know of a similar sort of thing for the homeless that I can take part in this xmas.
Many Thanks, :j

Hi, could you ask the local womens refuge if you could do something for the children of the women there?Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0

Hi MeowMeow
What a lovely thing to do! You can find your local Domestic Violence refuge details here. DV is one of the leading causes of female homelessness and of course leads to children being homeless as well, I'm sure your local service would be thrilled if you rang offering to help them this way!
You could also try contacting Shelter and seeing if there's anything through them. Word of advice: it can be a bit hit and miss finding something but I've always found that you find something if you're willing to make a few phonecalls!0 -
Not exactly a shoebox, but what about Mary's Meals Backpacks?
They send backpacks off all year round, and there may be a school or group near you that you could add your stuff to. The bags and contents can be value range or second hand.
