Oh Well I Have Gone And Done It !!!

Well I knew I shouldn't do it.........go and try on dresses and not just any dress but 'Maggie' dressses. :(

I actually feel like I could cry! How pathetic is that? I know I carn't afford a dress that is 700 pounds but OMG ! I loved it sooooooo much. I have been looking for one on ebay and carn't find it. I went to try dresses as I was looking on ebay and needed to know the sizes and what suited, well I knew what suited cause it was the first dress I picked. It was on the Sale rail but still 700 pounds!

Well thanks for reading this, I needed to tell someone how I feel . Off to walk the dog and to try and get over it !!!!!
It was this one and It looked amazing (even if I say so myself LOL!)

£700 is a fab price for a MS. Super gown, can you budget elsewhere? x

    Oh dear :(

    It is a gorgeous dress.

Have you tried finding a dress maker in your area who might be able to make a copy or something similar?
I fell in love with a Maggie dress too - Naomi - but it was nearly £900  Fortunately I know someone who makes wedding dresses and she is going to make me something similar.

I know some people on here have bought copies from ebay from chinese suppliers. They might be able to point you in the right direction.

Maybe we could find you a dress by another designer that is similar.

Oh hun! I know how you feel... I cannot afford anything like the prices I've been looking at!
I've heard good reviews of Landybridal.com who do Maggie copies.
    Otherwise, do the lottery!!!
Kepp your chin up and know that you will look beautiful whatever you end up wearing! xXx

I don't know what size or height you are but there are two on preloved
This one is size 6, listed for offers http://www.preloved.co.uk/fuseaction-adverts.showadvert/index-1033060883/d40b274d.html

and this one is size 12 for 5'1" bride £500.00 http://www.preloved.co.uk/fuseaction-adverts.showadvert/index-1032992395/561f977c.html

It's worth checking back to see if anymore get listed.

When is your wedding? How long have we got to find one? pre-loved or a fab copy?
Don't give up yet, if anyone can help, they'll be on this board!

I was going to say how long till you get married? It's bound to come up - just get a list of everywhere that sells second hand dresses and keep chasing around once a week.

Don't forget you can go up a size or 3 and it can be amended to suit as well.
    I love surprises!

Love the dress...realistically...what is your budget and what size do you need?...if its on one sale rail ..it may be on others in other shops...it just needs to be found

    Thank You all so much.
I have come back from an hour and a half walk on the beach with my chocolate lab and whilst I was out I was thinking how spoilt I sound to my self!

I have no idea how much I have to buy a dress with as we are paying for things as we can, trying to keep the budget down as far as possible really. I know that you will all help if you can. This is the loveliest board on MSE .

I have already looked on preloved but I know without talking to OH that 500 is way over. I think I might just keep looking and maybe think about china, I have already got a recommendation for one company from Kira. My worry with China is that if it is awful when it arrives that will be my money gone!

    Sorry for rambling.... Sally

why not try an offer on the dress on preloved...its been on the site a while...especially if that one will fit you with little alteration. Its also better for the bride advertising it to have money in her pocket than the advert running...perhaps you could think about putting in a offer a little lower than the asking price?
