although you may be feeling rather annoyed by whats happened, at the end of the day its your fault that you ordered something you didnt want, although debenhams may not offer as good an online service as other companies since you still ordered online you are well within your rights to return the item within a week (i assume)
honestly though, ive ordered a few bits from debenhams and had no problem, its your fault though that you got all the way through to paying before checking the products dimensions etc
It's hardly the OPs fault that the delivery company delivered to the wrong address, so he couldn't refuse delivery, then failed to collect the goods when they said?
The OP made a mistake, they tried to correct it as soon as possible (before the goods had been sent) but debenhams wouldn't do that, then they've been caught up in the incompetence of the courier since.0 -
I also vow never to shop with this company again.
I ordered a few items. Items arrived promptly, but when I opened the package 2 of the items were wrong. Instead they sent 2 completely different items that I had not ordered, although the tags were on. The outside of the bag had a barcode label with the item I had ordered, but inside was something completely different.
I phoned to ask for them to send out the correct items. They said that they could only do that if I paid for said items again and I could return the wrong items for a refund. I elected not to reorder, but asked if I could just return the incorrect items via their courrier.
I was on annual leave, so I was able to wait in all day for their courrier to arrive - No show. I phoned to complain. Got all sorts of conflicting messages from their advisors. To cut it short, they arranged for a courrier to come out again and again no show. Eventually, I sent them back via Royal Mail. I received an email saying they have refunded one of the items, but not the other that I returned, with no explanation.
They said if I had a query with the email, to click on a link to email them this. I clicked on the link and it doesn't work. I attempted to find an email contact on their website and their isn't one. When I phone their expensive 0845 number I get no one who has any sort of authority to sort out a problem which was of their making. They are not equipped to deal with much in my experience. They could really do with getting some lessons from John Lewis online. Now should I just forget this sorry episode, or pursue the money they owe me - £30. It will probably involve writing to head office and I will inform BBC Watchdog also.0 -
Oh dear what mess up for you, very annoying, I hate waiting in for deliveries. My 'before 1pm order from next this week arrived at 6.30pm. Considering you also ordered an incorrect mattress may I politely suggest you check and double check next time you order online, or just stick to real shopping in shops?0
