Anybody work in financial services?

Hi all,

I work in a financial services back office (i don't come in to contact with money or clients and I am not a member of any FSA organisations e.g accountants/IFA's etc)).
I have recently started a DMP but may consider an IVA as my debts are very large and will take approx 10 years to pay off by DMP. I know an IVA may be harder to stick to but think it may be worth the effort if it clears the decks in less time.

I am worried though that if I start an IVA it will cause me to lose my job - and make matter worse!

Does anybody here work in finance with an IVA? - will my employer only find out if I tell them?

Thanks

first thing... an IVA is not harder to stick to than a DMP, they should be practically the same!

second... this is probably going to depend more on your contract of employment than anything we can tell you on here.

Yes people in Financial Services can have an IVA, it doesn't affect some people, others have had to leave their job. I dont advise lying about it to your employer, but rather try to find out without raising anybody's suspicions.
