I need help choosing an essay question. I decided I'd like to write/research cyberbullying.
I was thinking of writing about how cyberbullying differs from regular RL bullying, and the different effects of both on society? How can I word that into a question, does it sound okay?
It's a social + security module

Interactions on the Internet - comparing the effects of virtual and 'real life' bullying.
Could I ask what level you are studying? It is a very wide reaching question.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Fourth year, its just a coursework piece (25%) of module mark. I emailed my lecturer to ask if that was okay already (to write about cyber-bullying) he said its all good
He gave us this huge list including...
1. Why are hackers male?
2. Why are there so few women in this class?
3. How should “criminal” activities in virtual worlds like 'Second Life' be dealt with by real-world legal systems?
4. Does “virtual crime” really exist?
5. Is cybersex abuse less offensive than real abuse?
But I think that there's been lots of coverage of cyber bullying recently so it'd be interesting to research it0 -
just searched for cyber bullying on pubmed and sciencedirect (more hits on science direct btw)! there's a few review-type papers that might be a good jumping off point. there's even a validated inventory!
from my perspective, i think you need to narrow down the scope - 'effects on society' is very broad. what aspects particularly interest you? the impact on quality of life? why people do it? impact on mental health of sufferers? how it is reported in the media? does it vary across countries/cultures?:happyhear0 -
Hi, I know it's far from professional journal standard, but there was an interesting article on this in this month's Glamour magazine- the one with the free nail polish on!Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0
