Hello All
As I am on IB at the present time, when my turn comes for the points score test, I assume that I will get an IB50 not ESA50 questionaire form ?
If I scored enough points and passed this test, am I correct in saying I will be put onto ESA from IB ?
Then who desides if I am in the "SUPPORT GROUP" or "WORK RELATED GROUP" which group would I get put into ? how is that decission made ?
Doe's it just depend if I have paid National Insurance to the amount/time required or do they look at your savings ?
Sorry so many Questions but hope someone can help with some answers.
Thanks.

The decision is made by a Decision Maker at the DWP. They look at the form you filled in, the report from the person who did your medical and any other information they have - for instance doctors reports from previous assessments.Doe's it just depend if I have paid National Insurance to the amount/time required or do they look at your savings ?
Whether you get put into the Work Related Group or the Support Group is dependent on your medical condition and has nothing to do with your N.I. contributions/savings.
You can get ESA Contribution Based which depends on your National Insurance Contributions. If you cannot get N.I. contributions based ESA then you may be eligible for Income Related ESA which does take into consideration your savings as well as other income you may get.

When you are due to move over to ESA you will receive an ESA50 and be assessed according to the WCA, not the IB50/ PCA.Gone ... or have I?0

Hi
Thanks MrsManda, very kind of you to reply, it has answered some of my questions fully.
Just wondered do you know if its law that dwp have to send me a IB50 questionaire before I get called for a medical or can they just call me in at any time without filling in the IB50 ?

Hi dmg24
As I am on IB at the present I assume that I will be sent an IB50, dont know how long before a ESA50 will follow it ? is there a set period of time ?
Is the WCA what they test you by if your on ESA ? and the PCA is an IB test ??? please excuse my stupidity on all these tests.

If you are due to be assessed from April onwards (or you are in one of the test areas) your next form will be an ESA50. If you are assessed before then, you will complete an IB50. There is no set period of time, it varies on a case by case basis.
Yes, your understanding of the tests is correct.
The DWP do not have to send you an IB50 before calling you for a medical, but it would be unusual for them not to.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Hi dmg24
Thanks for the info, I am learning bit by bit about this whole change over, seems full of pit falls.
