Advice Needed

Hey folks, just looking for a little bit of advice, I have just plucked up the courage to look at my credit report and rating on Equifax, I have a score of 373 (which was much better than I expected :D), which works out as fair on their scoring system.

The area I have messed things up on is previous payments - I had a couple of store and credit cards when I was a student and defaulted on a couple of them. I have since, however, paid them all off over the years and are now settled. I also need to update my details on the electoral roll, I always do this and haven't yet been sent the form to register for 2011.

What can I do now, with everything paid off and all the i's dotted etc., to get my rating up???

I have taken out a credit card for Bad Credit chums, and promise to manage it :D, hopefully this will help bump it up a little, is there anything else to help my cause??

Also, the information contained on accounts on Equifax is archived for 6 years after the account was closed. Does this mean that after 6 years the information contained within the report is wiped, or does it remain indefinitely?

You can phone your Local Authority to get yourself on the electoral register within a couple of weeks.

Rebuilding your credit record is now a question of time and proper management of your debt. When your record looks clean then you could apply for another card at a lower interest rate, use both of the cards and pay both in full and on time every month.
