Huge Fonts on XP

Help my 2 grandchildren have been on the computer and now all the fonts are huge. First of all I tryed holding down Ctrl and rotating the scroll button on the mouse that made the picture smaller but the other fonts were still big the toolbar fonts are big all the desktop Icons have spread all over the screen. I have also been to Control Panel clicked the display- appearance- font size. they are set to normal but its still the same.

Balloo, at the bottom right hand side of your screen will be number with possibly a + sign to the left hand side of it. (sorry, not explaining too clearly)This is the screen zoom level.

Check it's at 100% not higher.

ps. it's not on the toolbar. It's displayed when the toolbar drops.

edited because dumb me assumed Balloo was on IE. (Jsut because I was..doh!!)

Have the accessibility settings been changed possibly?

Where exactly is it large fonts, sounds more like windows display settings than somewhere like firefox/IE

    Some options you can adjust,

    If internet only
    View > Text Size

    If computer
Right click on desktop > properties > settings > resolution (640x480 = stupid small, 1024x768 min)
Go to appearance tab > advanced > choose the "icon" option, check the font > normally about 8

Can you tell us where the fonts are huge, just the web browser (which one) or system wide.

Can you post a screen shot of your desktop. Press CTRL+PRNT SCRN, paste that into MS Paint, save it, then upload that to imageshack.us, and then post that here.

The large fonts where everywhere But when I held down Ctrl and scrolled the wheel on the mouse the pic went smaller But the fonts on the the top bars and bottom are still huge and a sign stating all the icons cannot be stored :o I did not understand what you were telling me to do here.

    If internet only
    View > Text Size

1024x768 is the max my pc will go to.

  • Right-click an open area of the Windows Desktop and then click "Properties" to open the "Display Properties" window.

    Click the "Appearance" tab.

In the drop down list labelled "Font Size", select the desired size.

Click "OK" to save the change and exit the "Display Properties" window.

Probably wrong but worth a shot :)
