If you lie, this would be fraud. It's like anything you'll only regret it if you are caught, and whether you do is totally up to yourself. I guess by asking the question you already know the answer.0

Some company checks, some company doesn't. But by giving false information, you'll be lying...and credit company don't like lies....01. Marriott Rewards VISA (£2700 @ 17.9%)
02. HSBC MasterCard (£2250 @ 14.9%)
03. HALIFAX One MasterCard (£2200 @ 12.9%)
04. Monument VISA (£1000 @ 19.9%)
05. Aqua MasterCard (£500 @ 29.9%)0 -
Yeah i undertand its fraud, but im going to be using it honestly, its not fair. There are occasions when i really need one, hate asking ppl, and i dont like the prepaid one idea. :-( i had hassle getting a bank account ages ago too.0

Why don't you use a debit card if you're just ordering/buying something that you'd otherwise be paying cash for anyway (such as the train tickets)? You should get one with student accounts.0

Why dont you want the prepaid idea?
If your currently unemployed isnt it in your interest to stay out of debt?0 -
Thank you for the responses.
Im very good with the very little money i have, i dont drink smoke, or eat much even lol. I never have credit more than £100 ish. I buy then pay off first before buying again. I have a debit card but a small percentage of retailers accept credit cards only.
With the prepaid cards i pay for the privilege of just having it. Thats just a waste of money.0 -
Do you have a student bank account? (If not, why not?)
Ask the bank you have your student account with if they can offer you a credit card... I think most will especially if you've been sensible with your student account.student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0 -
daniel, tell me about it - I graduated over 5 years ago and still have thousands of pounds worth of student debts. If a retailer is accepting credit cards only and not debits cards (and to be honest I've not come across one like that) then sod them, they'll lose business that way, but lying to get a credit card isn't the answer. Apart from being morally and legally wrong, the card company can request to see your pay slips if it looks like the figures don't add up from your credit reference.0

Another site wont except debit cards, tmobile, i only wanted a 50p sim card lol. Ending paying some git on ebay an extra £1. Then theres news server subscriptions which are credit card only. surely they would only request this information before hand. If they did id go somewhere else0
