Regular Rail User

I have to get the train to work every day, the fair is £9.50 for a return each day. I can't buy a weekly / fortnightly ticket as I'm often based in other sites hundreds of miles away which is paid for by work, so I wouldn't get any savings with a season ticket.

I have been looking on National Rails website and if I'm not old, a student, disabled or a Network Rail employee, or travelling somewhere for over £12 a day then there is literally nothing out there for me.

Does anyone know of any promotions, other rail cards etc that I could use? As much as I like handing a tenner for the chance to stand on a train for an hour I'd prefer it to be cheaper.

Thanks,

There might be something cheaper out there.

    What is the journey?

Warrington to Stockport. I'm pretty flexible with the times I can travel in the day, but must only spend an average of 3 days per week there although it varies and I'm hoping will become a bit more consistent soon.

So how much do you actually spend in a month, and how much is a monthly ticket?

Do you qualify for a young person's railcard? https://www.16-25railcard.co.uk/

You say you can be flexible on times, so buy an Off Peak Day Return for £8.90.
The earliest you can arrive in Stockport though is 10:28.
No time restrictions in the other direction.

If you are eligible for a 16-25 railcard, that fare drops to £5.90.
But the earliest you can arrive in Stockport though is 10:53.
No time restrictions in the afternoon peak.

    Crikey. I wish!

£75 if I went on the train. I take a coach instead!
