Wanted....a larder area!

We live in a standard 30s semi, no garage, and full central heating.
Now, we are finding we eat a lot more fresh food, and the standard under counter fridge is squeezed for space. Having c/h, there is not a cold spot in the house, and I cannot really afford the space for a tall fridge.
Is there any way maybe to 'build' a small area, maybe under the stairs which could be insulted and somehow kept cooler, OK for keeping veg and so on. It may be there is something on the market, or someone may have come up with a solution.
Thanks

How about a normal sized fridge under the stairs?0

Not enough space sadly, only a 'crawl space' really.O would some power the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us.

GARAGE!!!
Cheers
PS If you insult it it will probably refuse to work properly and ruin all the food anyway!

How about an external shed. If its properly insulated, shelved out and vermin proof it may be worth thinking about.0

you just need a room that is cool and dark. so a good fitting door, and the addition of a few airbricks to an external wall should be enough

Oops...my bad. Thought you'd said you had a garage. Note to self - must visit the optician.Afraid no garage, as I said.

In our new kitchen, we are planning to line one of the cupboards with insulation, put a seal on the door and vent it through the (north facing) wall to outside (with a fly screen). No idea if it will work or not yet - how long can you wait? If you have suspended timber floors, you could make the cupboard the same and ventilate to under the floor.
If you find a solution, please post back - thanks.

My house, with traditional larder and cold slab, says 'I'm for sale!!'
The larder is a tiny room off the kitchen, with door and a small high window which is deliberately not double glazed. It's in the corner of the kitchen and the door is at an angle to the kitchen. I expect you could do this in your kitchen but you would lose a corner of your kitchen which may be too high a price to pay.
Sorry I can't be more help.0
