What counts as a couple for travel insurance?

Policy we are looking at has this wording
"Couple would apply to two people that are married, common law partner or couple of long standing."

Now what is a couple of long standing? Boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years but don't live together. Looking for insurance for a month in Australia with a couple of days in Hong Kong en route.

Saving for a deposit: £11,621.15
20/25lbs

Ask before you buy - it usually does mean living together. Buying two policies won't be much more expensive (if at all).
