How to post a TV - restricted by couriers

Hi,
I've checked out the couriers recommended by Martin and all seem to consider shipping a TV unsuitable and at the customer's own risk and may result in surcharges and delays. There is no insurance cover. I need to sell a TV within 10 days (moving abroad) and will post on ebay, but would like to increase chances by offering (reasonable) shipping rather than just pick-up. I've got the original packaging.
How do retailers ship TVs? And how are their TV's insured if there is any damage? How am I supposed to ship it then? It's a nice Panasonic LCD TX-26LXD70 (was new £469) and I can't take the risk to not get any compensation if it gets damaged.
Any useful advice is welcome!
Thank you!

Hiya,
I used to work for a company selling there TV's on eBay for them we used to ship that size of TV using City-Link i think there insurance was based on the weight it was covered for x amount of pounds per KG but it would never cover the value of the TV on the odd occasion it was damaged.
All other units were shipped on a pallet this insured it was up right in transit but to be honest its not economical for you to do.
If you have the original packaging Panasonics are well packed you shouldn't really have any problems in transit.
You Could always try a short auction with collect only see if you get any interest locally ( Don't take paypal for this thought )

Personally if it must be gone in 10 days then you don't have time to sell this on ebay, use smalla ds instead and save yourself a problem.
Say you do a 3 day auction, buyer doesn't pay and you can't open an NPB until day 4 and then close it 4 days later, that gives you 11 days..so no good. Unless you have a good selling history you may well be stopped from doing a 1 day auction (there are all sorts of strange limits now on selling) but even if you can a 1 day auction is not going to give you a lot of visibility and you are still pushing it to cover problems if buyer doesn't pay quickly enough.
This really isn't suitable for ebay due to time pressures.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Try UPS but not through inter parcel or the like. A few years back I had to ship a pc monitor and they covered it and they deliver laptops for apple so clearly will do screens.0

I just checked out UPS, it says they would charge £124 (!!) for a TV size shipment. One of the ML recommended websites also offers shipment via UPS for £10 or so, but their restrictions list appears to apply to all those couriers they are using.0
