Anyone NOT put tree up ?

I used to be mad for the biggest tree i could find and obsessed about loads of decorations each year.
Then about 3/4 years ago i just seemed to fall out of the habit really, havent put a tree up for 3 years. Don't miss it to be honest, i tend to go for a minimalist christmas as far as decorations are concerned now.
For me as long as i have a little bit of lovely champagne, some friends and loved ones around for meals and generally excellent food over the festive season, its all i need. Spangly ooh ahh decorations and trees, spending all before me, the orgy of gift giving and receiving etc i tend to now leave to others.
Weird because i used to go mad about it. I'm 35. Maybe i just grew out of it. or overdid it too many christmasses and regretted the overspends, which i don't do anymore. £100 here and there on trees and decorations were perhaps all part of my problem!:j0 -
i am also with the first poster on gifts. in our family we give gifts at any time of the year, and the hoo haa about christmas gifts really isnt a big deal - we give small stuff generally.:j0

Sadly no tree for me
I'd love to have one but have an incredibly small house and don't have enough space for one, on top of that I have 2 gigantic crazy cats who would demolish a tree in minutes! 0 -
I love having the tree up, DH wouldn't bother left to his own devices. I used to like getting a real tree, which he always grumbled about, but they got so expensive and we were afraid that the kids would eat the needles, so we have an artificial one now. The only year I've not been bothered about having a tree was the first Xmas after my mum died. My dad never bothers with a tree, he's never been one for Xmas really.
At the end of the day, it's your house, so if you don't want a tree, don't have one. It's up to you, if you don't have kids and you're not bothered about a tree. Your SD can have whatever she wants in her own house.
I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't put a tree up.0
