Thanks to all for the posts. The work never actually commenced and no contact was made to say why things never started as scheduled, I had to contact them - twice in ten days before getting a call.
Told them it's a bit late in the year now to have ch installed and that it will have to be next year, but haven't had my £500 (bit more than 10%) back yet. So they had a loan from me for over 4 months. A lesson learned.
Well, I hope it was "loan" and I do actually get it back0 -
actually thats another question - why are you waiitng 4 months for a central heating system installation? Are they well recommended and hence you want to wait for or something else?
I was impressed with the quote and what and how they planned to do everything, and as the previous (higher) quote was also for an October start, I thought October must be the best I could expect (this was in late June). Should have tried a couple more firms I realise now.0
