Credit Card lending criteria

Hello.
This is going to be a bit of a taboo question but does anybody happen to know which Credit Card Companys are a bit more lenient in their lending criteria?
I need a card preferably for balance transfer(one of oh's higher interest ones) and a one off purchase (car insurance as the monthly repayments will be lower)
The good news - It will all be paid off within the 0% time slot so its not so much of an issue if its a high rate after that.
The bad news - I have a default on my account from 4 years ago (i managed to get both a mortgage and a loan for the deposit this year so i knwo its not causing me that much of a problem) and ive been in my house less than a year and my job just a year.
Im just thinking I wanna avoid getting rejected obviously as itll only make things worse so if anyone knows whos a little more accepting that would be really helpful
Thanks in advance.

I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Maybe try Creation credit cards, they have been known to be more lenient on past history, they only search Equifax.
