UPVC window locking mechanism -

Is this problem a DIY fix? A handle on one of my upvc windows spins round 360 degrees and is therefore disconnected with the locking mechanism. Do I need to take the window apart, fortunately it is not locked in the shut position and it's an upstairs window.

Might just need a new handle then. Try https://www.handlestore.com, they have a good range of different styles.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Take handle off (2 screws) and see if it turns the spindle (square peg type thing). If the spindle is just turning 360 degrees you need a new lock, if handle isn't turning the spindle it may have worked loose or handle is broken. Either way you should know.0
