Is this problem a DIY fix? A handle on one of my upvc windows spins round 360 degrees and is therefore disconnected with the locking mechanism. Do I need to take the window apart, fortunately it is not locked in the shut position and it's an upstairs window.
Any advice gratefully received!

Might just need a new handle then. Try https://www.handlestore.com, they have a good range of different styles. No free lunch, and no free laptop 0 0

Take handle off (2 screws) and see if it turns the spindle (square peg type thing). If the spindle is just turning 360 degrees you need a new lock, if handle isn't turning the spindle it may have worked loose or handle is broken. Either way you should know.0
