Just had someone round to read my meters this afternoon, but I only gave them reading about 3 weeks ago just before I got my quartely bill. Dont they believe me or something

Have sent two emails to EON via their contact us form asking them to explain why they put my DD up when I've been in credit all year round, and still no reply from them :(

    Hi gocat

Please don't think it's a case of doubting you; we're always happy to accept a customer's readings.

However, we have a legal obligation to check your meter on a regular basis. This is not only to take readings but also to make sure it's working correctly and is safe.

The meter readers are not the same organisation as E.ON Retail (the guys who send the bills). They don't know how your account is set up. Therefore, even though you manage your account online, this will not affect either the number of visits you receive or the frequency and timing of the visits.

I'm really sorry you haven't received a reply to the emails you've sent. I do know there is currently a back log in this department.

If you would like to drop another email to the address in my Profile, I'll gladly take a look for you.

Been meaning to do a switch for a while now but still not got round to it.

Which company would be best for a no hassle switch, don't want to be writing letters to have a DD reduced etc.

Prefer to be on quarterly and pay exactly what owing.

Seems to be a toss up betweek E-ON or EDF, maybe even N-Power.

Also has anyone made a switch on a property that is about to be taken on by someone else in a short while, do the companies see that as an exit as such if they name on the bill changes and charge a fee or is that seen a keeping the supplier tagged to the property in question

Switching is rarely a hassle. Just use a comp site with your annual kWh consumption figures, takes 10 mins max. The ETC rarely applies when the contract is terminated due to a house move.

Just got a letter saying EON plan to raise my DD from £75per month to £90 from the end of this month.
Just had my last quartely bill last week and balance at last bill is £140 credit. So why the DD price rise?
    Anyone else experienced this?

Well they just replied to my 2nd email saying they will put it back to £75 per month and review next spring :)
