What age do kids stop believing in Santa?

My son is 6 and still believes in Santa - I hope he continues to for a few years yet. I've got another baby on the way, so when he realises, I will have to ask him to pretend to believe for the sake of the younger one.
As for me, I'm 32 and still believe Santa will come. I still can't get to sleep on Xmas Eve because I'm so excited, and wake my husband up on Xmas morning by bouncing on the bed shouting 'Let's go downstairs and see if he's been!!!!'. :rotfl:
How sad am I???

well I hope that teacher realises how awful they were that day!
Mine are 10 one believes no problem but then she enjoys Xmas and wouldn't do anything to rock the boat. The other has asked in around about way and I just said that it is hard to explain - I reminded her that when they were very little they thought that all the santas were real and they wouldn't have been able to understand if we explained that some were just helpers - and I had the thoughtful "yeeesssss" in reply so I just said that it's the same kind of thing, I haven't told you everything about Xmas because you're not ready for it and if I told you too soon it would ruin it but when you really don't think it can be true and you're ready to know everything then I'll explain. She seems perfectly happy with that!
However I do tell anyone who asks that I believe in santa because I do - that wonderful magic that once a year at least makes it more important to give than receive who could possibly not believe in that??0 -
My teacher told the whole class that santa didn't exist when I was 9. My mum was furious and went to report him to the headteacher!Mum to 2 cheeky little monkeys!

My boys are 14 & 16 now but kindly humour me. We leave a glass of scotch for santa ( I assume a elf actually drives) and carrots for the reindeers although one year i forgot the carrots & we had to leave out a tin.....another happy bug.........sorry,blogger embracing the simple life0

I can't remember what age I was when I started questioning it, but I remember bugging my mum ALL DAY saying "I don't believe in him" and "He's not real is he?" on and on and on. I still sort of half believed and mum kept telling me he was real but by the end of the day she caved in and told me the truth. I remember feeling SO disappointed even though I'd been insisting I didn't believe all day!
I think I found out before my eldest sister but I'm not sure...Total abstinence is so excellent a thing that it cannot be carried to too great an extent. In my passion for it I even carry it so far as to totally abstain from total abstinence itself. Oscar Wilde0 -
My mum told me when I was about 9-10 years old that there wasn't a santa and thats why she had just brought in a "My little pony colouring tube" (the ones where you had 4 picture to colour and they came in a big cardboard tube with a mini pack of crayons
) and then I had a stern "But you can't say anything to your little sister"
My DD (5) still believes even though my brother is trying to convince her otherwise  I went on northpole.com and had a look at Santas Den, there was a Q&A section which I sat and read with DD...who firmly believes again :j I have explained that Santa only buys for children who believe and then once they don't believe the mummy and daddy have to buy them all
She said she'd keep on believing to save us some money so we can buy for other members of the family :money: :rotfl:
My 2 SIL's (18 & 24) still put a mince pie, carrot and a small rum out for Santa, and last year he left his boot and so much soot on the fire hearth ! :santa2:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
My daughter is almost 4 and I still can't GET her to believe! When I talk about Santa she tells me, "Don't be silly, Mummy, that's just a man."0

Wise Mum - I used to tell my kids 'if you stop believing, he stops coming' - and they still get stockings (in fact, my son's wife has started believing as well)0 -
