I 'm 27 and still believe in santa. My 7yr old has told me there is no santa and that it's me leaving her presents. Hopefully a trip to Lapland in 9wks will make her believe again0

Whatever age they stop, it's a damn sight sooner if people keep asking them if they "believe" & plant the seed that they can dis-believe:rolleyes:
And yes, Polar Express does say it all. I'm putting a sleigh bell on my (1YO's) stocking & will make sure he can hear it every year!Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
I was told as a child that Santa only brings presents to those children who really belive in him.......I tried really hard that year not to belive, right up until bedtime on Christmas eve when I did do a sneaky "I do belive really" before closing my eyes.
My eldest (11) is a bit sceptical but we've told her the same thing - she's not daft enough to miss out on a chance at presents.
The other one is 8 and still thinks it's all very magical and fluffy. Long may it last!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
When I was 7, my teacher said 'hands up those who still believe in Father Christmas'. I was DEVASTATED.0

But what age did your child admit to you that they didn't believe any more? (Usually because some big-mouth at school can't wait to ruin it for everyone else)
I am dreading that day - for me, it will take away some of the magic of
What!!!! Im 42 and you're telling me this now!!! :rotfl:0 -
My DD (7) still believes, but she questions us unbelievably about it  She can't reason with it in her head - so I think it's only going to be matter of time :eek:Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0

My ds is nearly 7, and has never once questioned me about there being no such thing as santa. And last night, when the tooth fairy came and left him a dr who figure under his pillow, he was totally AMAZED that she knew he was a fan of the programme... Bless his heart...You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....
*I have done reading too*
*I have done geography as well*0 -

Tried in vain last year to convince my just turned ten year old (my youngest) that santa was for real with this...it very almost worked but he didnt buy it, he was dubious at 8, even more so at 9 and by ten there was nothing at all I could do! It is a really good site and definately worth a look with the little ones, think I enjoyed it more than the kids hehe0
