Any comments on the above video camera? on sale at Debs for £67, is it a good buy?

It's a good price and has good video but are you buying for looks?

The good: Nice size; macro mode; electronic image stabilization; takes SDHC cards.
The bad: Garish-looking design with hard-to-use buttons; lame software.
The bottom line: The JVC GC-FM1's impractical design and poor software hobble an otherwise competent mini camcorder competitor

Thanks, not buying for looks, it is only used a couple of times a year.....xmas and hols, and we have a good stills camera. With the 10% off it looks a good buy.

I have minohd and zx1 , both 720p hd, and they were £40 but you need to get an sd card as well, - £10 or less for 8GB card, check how big video files are,1080p will be mega-10 mins per GB, but you can film at lower res - defeats 1080p ?
I use the zx1 most, because it takes stills and uses aa rechargables, if you can only charge by usb you may come unstuck. Battery life is good tho'.
HD video needs a steady hand and fm1 is 1080p ,more than my 720p , so try out first if you can and watch on tv.
Low light/indoor video is nowhere near as good on these things as good daylight video.
