I just messed up my online train order. (selected wrong date in January)
The helpline seems pretty poor - theres nothing that can be done about it would paying a fee greater than the tickers cost
Do Distance Selling Regulations not apply to these purchases, if no, does anyknow why?

DSR do not apply here-same with flights to if you make a mistake. Due to the nature of the product this could lead to the company losing money.one of the famous 5

there we go then - cant go now - chalk it up to experience0 -
Travel tickets are not covered by the DSR because, quite simply, there is no need to inspect the goods when they are delivered.
The DSR was designed so that, for example, you could return clothing that didn't fit (something you wouldn't know until the item had been delivered). With airline or rail tickets, there is no need for this - you know exactly what you are buying and you know exactly what to expect when your purchase arrives.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Section 2.20 of the DSRs tells us...2.20 The requirements to provide pre-contractual information, written and additional information, the right to cancel and the obligation on the supplier to carry out the contract within a maximum of 30 days do not apply to (amongst other things)...
* Contracts to provide accommodation, transport, catering or leisure services (for example hotel accommodation; plane, train, or concert tickets; car hire; or sporting events) where you agree to provide the service on a specific date or within a specific period.0
