Listing before holiday

Due to go on holiday next week, fly on 25th, dont get back till 1st. Would you list in the 10p listing day or wait until another time?

I'd personally wait, if you leave questions unanswered people are less likely to bid, and it personally irritates me when people do it lol i just dont see the point, some people ive seen in the past, wern't home until like 3 weeks after the auction ended!

i'm in the same situation, fly on the 24th, back on the 1st. I am listing some high price items today on a 3 day auction but only as a BIN with immediate payment required, and will be sending most of the items special delivery. They finish Sunday so even last minute purchases can be sent out on Monday special. Hopefully though I'll sell some today or tomorrow and can ship immediately.

I would not risk a straight auction now, I want everything sent before I go.

I will be uploading some straight auctions on Monday though for 10 days so they will finish the day after I come home.

gonna list a couple of items as 3 day auctions, mainly just the larger things

Holidays are pain when it comes to online trading. I went away last month for 10 days. Ran sales down the week before I went and it has taken a month to get everything up and running again.


Added to which one of my items had a 30%-40% price crash due to a new model being introduced whist I was away and although stock levels were as low as i could get them I had 10 days of selling at loss/tiny profit.

So all in all quite an expensive holiday.

Can you not list on the 10p, and then edit the item and adjust the timeframe back to 10 days on monday, which would cover you for the time you're away?

wouldnt this cancel out the 10p listing fee? thought they dont allow this sort of thing?

That always used to be the case, but this time I can see nothing at all in the terms that suggest that revisions are not allowed. I've never risked revising on a cheap day, but maybe someone who has could confirm that they were definitely not recharged when they checked their detailed invoice.

I revised several on the last 5p day (20th sept) although not dates - text, pictures etc.

Detailed invoice states 5p insertion fee.

am i right in saying though if someone has bid on the item i can not adjust the length of time its listed for? if i list today for 3 days then adjust to 10 on monday is it 10 days from monday or 10 days from today?

You cannot make any adjustments to your auction once you have a bid. Also, if you list for 3 days now, then revise at the weekend to show a 10 day listing the 10 days will have started from the time you placed the auction.
