Not strictly a money saving question.

I do apologise for this not being a money saving question, however I've been advised by another member to post on this bored with the issue of which I face.

Tommorrow I'll be sitting a modular maths exam, foundation tier, however my mathmatical skills are severly lacking. I highly doubt I'll get a "C" Talking to any teacher of any status doesn't help, as I'm just palmed off with "Sit the test first, then there may be a slight chance of retake" or words to that effect.

This doesn't help because, I'm doing a triple science course, which I'm graded between A-B's most of the time for, which is very demanding of my time. As well as my other subjects.

Seeing as my maths is of the lowest grade I recive I've tried to revise, quite intensly for, to no acctual point it would seem. I constantly need support when I'm revising, which I need from a maths teacher. Nothing seems to sink in, I'll be doing a maths exam and due to the stress and knowledge that I can't do it I just become "blank" As I can't acctually manage to do anything beyond a D grade into practice.

I'm of quite an ambitious disposition, and would like to attend a university in the higher section of the russel group. Although my distinct lack of Mathmatical genius, will hinder me greatly.

Would anybody know of a way that I can really push my grade? I've tried websites and text books, just nothing seems to be right.

Sorry for the length and the moaning tone.

I'd appreciate any type of help at all, Thanks.

Edit- I did forget to mention I'll be sitting a linear exam in January, where it's possible for me to gain a "C"

By tomorrow, there isn't much that could help. You would really need to sit down and work through a problem (with the guidance) and then do the same question without, then again. Then move on to do the same problem but with different numbers, and then another. Then do the same process again but with a different type of problem.

Essentially, maths is about knowing what process to use and when.

Honestly? Just relax. You're not going to learn a huge amount over night. If you can stay calm you'll be able to focus better in the exam tomorrow and having the "i can't" attitude just creates another mental block stopping you from understanding. You can. It's only one module, you can resit it if it goes wrong. You might even find in a few months when you come to resit that a lot of the work has sunk in and you understand it better.
If you need to resit, then resit, it's fine! Just because a university is russel group or apparently prestigious doesn't mean it's good or right for you, and often those unis will have higher requirements such as a minimum of an A in GCSE maths, especially if you are looking to do a science based degree. You'll use a lot of maths in sciences at A level and degree, you might even get better at maths through doing it as part of your A levels and want to retake GCSE maths at college.
