Cedar greenhouses - any recommendations please?
Options
I'm looking for a new cedar greenhouse (around 8' x 8') to avoid the maintenance required on any other type of wooden greenhouse (aluminium just wouldn't look right in our garden).
The ones with the most visible online presence are Gabriel Ash and Alton, but they are stunningly expensive.
Does anyone have any recommendations for other firms selling cedar greenhouses please?

After quite a lot of research I bought a Growhouse last year through the Greenhouse People. Still quite expensive but cheaper than an Alton or a Gabriel Ash. Good instructions and seems very sturdy, although I did pay extra for safety glass. No regrets so far.0

Thanks very much - I'll check those out.
[Just noticed from the identical addresses that Growhouse and Gabriel Ash appear to be one and the same. Odd, though, that the registrant of Growhouse is shown as Hartley Botanic. Is there only the one company making all these, I wonder?]0 -
The lorry that delivered the Growhouse also had a very large G. Ash greenhouse on it.0

I bought an Alton 10' x 8' greenhouse 14 years ago. I took a look last year when buying a few spare parts or it and I too was stunned at the cost! I can't believe it was relatively that expensive years ago but perhaps it was.
Anyway, it is brilliant! I haven't been too careful about putting on preservative - just when it really needed it and then another year on when I've had time.
Last year, ie 13 years after buying it I dismantled it to move house and took out all the glass and painted on preservative and it looks like new. Not a single sign of rot or wear anywhere except a 2'' bit which was nibbled by a trapped animal, a rat perhaps. I did have to nail on the ridge bar again and replace the plastic glass support pieces and a total cost of £2!
The wood holds the heat and this greenhouse it usually 4 degrees warmer over night than my aluminum one on the other side of the hedge (which cost me a total of £33 for new glass having found it on a skip)
If I had the money I would buy wood again as it does add to the garden.

Gabriel Ash is definitely the same company as Hartley Botanic, and it sounds as if Growhouse is, too.
FWIW, I have an HB and it's been fine over several years.0
