central ticketing and Roxburghe

Hi all, I am new to the forum but thought I would post for some advice. I was visiting friends in another city and I parked in a car park that I always park in when visiting them. This is a free car park. I returned to my car two days later and found two tickets on my car, issued at 5.04am and 6.00am the day after. My window wiper blade was broken also. My friends and I then found a central ticketing sign behind a bin on the ground. The sign stated 1hr max stay. I did read up on the sites so I decided not to pay. They wanted £85 per ticket.
Now i have received two letters in respect of each ticket from Roxburghe. The letters are threatening. Stating the law of agency and how they will go after the registered keeper if I do not say who was driving?? This is false as far as I am aware. They also make reference to tresspass which we do not have in Scotland.
They have also started calling me. Twice a day, about tea time then about 9pm. I have no idea how they got my home phone number. I am assuming from the phone book.
I am yet to get Graham whites letter.
I am just feeling very worried about things at the moment.

You should have by now realised it's a total scam. Totally ignore them and those worthless threats.
What i would suggest is keep a very very loud whistle by the phone for the next time they call. They'll soon get the message.0 -
when do they give up?
I am not paying the tickets. They now want £147 per ticket.0 -
Tell them the debt is expressly denied and pass it back to the PPC, if they contact you again they are breaking the law, also tell them that their calls are being recorded for the purposes of taking them to court for harassment, and for god's sake don't pay them a penny!Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

There you go, just take a look at that.
Seriously, don't let them get to you. Just totally ignore the whole empty threat rubbish and laugh when the next begging letter comes. That's basically what they are, begging letters full of empty threats.0 -
As above,
It is against OFT debt collection guidelines to pursue a debt which is disputed. As the debt never existed then it is easily disputed. I would still go down the ignore route, but if the calls are annoying you send them a dispute letter and tell them to cease and desist any contact.
P S: if they ring before 8.00am or after 9.00pm they are again acting outside the guidelines.0 -
Thanks everyone. I think I will send a letter saying the debt is disputed. It would be easier to email or will they then just spam my inbox with their claims?0
-
If worried about that start at up a throwaway email addy on yahoo etc. When finished lose it.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Why bother writing to them ? I didnt and have heard nowt since last december now....have a read, even a letter from my mp saying dont pay http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=43972&st=0&gopid=413655&#entry413655You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

'Expressly denied', is what you need to say, in writing (but don't say who was driving, don't do any 'introduction' to the letter about that day and who parked where). Just quote their reference and then state your clear message. Insist they return the case to the originating company or you will instruct your Solicitor against them under the Protection from Harassment Act. Details here about your rights:

Don't give them an email addy you intend to ever use again or you will get that spammed as well as the phone calls and threatograms. Have a laugh at them if they phone, there's plenty of scope for keeping them hanging on the phone and annoying them until they desist. See the 'PPCs letters & scams, what to expect' thread at the top of the forum for all letters and a link to how to have fun when a PPC's pet debt collector phones.
P.S. to muckybutt, the only reason to write is if the person is really wobbling under the harassment. I wouldn't write, personally, nor would you (we would have told them where to go on the phone by now and be laughing at the threatograms!) but some people just want to know how to make it all stop.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
