Hi there,
When washing machine empties it is filling my sink and slowly emptys. I've checked the drain it's clear, the s bend under the sink is clear but the part that leaves the s bend and goes through the wall to the drain is kinda got this caked substance in it. I've tried Mr Muscle 2 in 1 but not shifted it! Any ideas?
The part is kinda inacessable and I've tried using a coat hanger too but to no avail.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
MS

I'm torn between serious chemical warfare (caustic soda) and taking the trap assembly apart and seeing if it can easily be "rodded" out from there. Check the Money Saving Old Style board for cheap chemical ideas and brews. I would also suspect that the fall on the pipe might not be sufficient.A house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

The blockage is probably undissolved washing powder, my friend had a similar problem.
Taking it apart and physically cleaning it is the best option, if the elbow outside is solvent welded on and cannot be removed for cleaning then it would be fairly cheap to replace the section of pipe.0 -
I used caustic soda on mine .
Leave it over night0 -
i had a similar problem after i had unblocked my drain, problems kept coming. in the end it was a fairly simple plunger job to get rid of the blockage... wish i hadn't wasted 3 quid on the mr muscle that did nothing.0

You could try something long and flexible to get up and around bend to push it out like say a garden hose then simply flush rest of it away.0

You could try rodding with a metal tape measure - worked for us!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0
