Blackberry stopped receiving email

Hi all, I'd appreciate any help you can offer.
My basic Blackberry curve 8520 has been fine for the last 6 months but suddenly this morning stopped receiving emails. I have it set up for 3 email accounts without any problems until today. When I go to the email settings in setup, it just says 'your device encountered a problem with this application's server'. I am on a Virgin contract.
I rely on my phone a lot for getting email while I'm out and about so, apart from upgrading my phone, any thoughts on how I can sort it out?
Many thanks.

check you still have blackberry internet on your tariff, you didnt have a 6 month free offer on blackberry internet which as just ran out? as that would stop your emails.
as a last resort back up your data on the phone to the memory card or to your computer and somewhere in the settings select factory restore, then add all your data back on, that should get everything fixed.0 -
Thanks. No, I have a contract and have unlimited data etc so it's not that. I phoned Virgin and they checked with RIM who ran some tests and did something at their end. They checked my email was all configured correctly but suggested I do the magic trick of taking the battery out 3 times. After about 20 mins all the email came flooding through so it seemed to sort it out and I've now seen that advised elsewhere on the internet. Thanks for the other tip, though. I'll bear it in mind in case it happens again.A [STRIKE]B[/STRIKE][STRIKE]C [/STRIKE]D E [STRIKE]F[/STRIKE]G H I J K L M N O P Q R S [STRIKE]T[/STRIKE]U V [STRIKE]W [/STRIKE]X Y Z0
