My dad just got a letter from debt recovery plus ltd after getting a ticket for not displaying his disabled badge in a supermarket car park where ukpc had started patrolling. When he 1st got the ticket i came on here to check them out and advised him not to pay. Now they are asking him for £148.99 and he is stressing about it. How long do they keep contacting people for? do they ever leave you alone? He wishes he just paid the £50 they asked for, stress isn't very good for a man who is recovering from a heart attack. As much info i can get would be great, just so i can reassure him he was right not to pay the fine, tnx all

This just shows what low-lifes and scum these companies are. They try and scare people into paying up, when in truth there is nothing to pay. And , by the way, it's not a "fine". To give it that name gives it a legitimacy it doesn't deserve. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

This thread where you've posted this is only for posting letters for information. Your post will be moved to the new thread it needed.
But please don't say he wishes he'd paid the scammers!
I have been there, done that and can from first hand experience tell your Dad that it is no longer stressful when you really understand it's a scam! If you get a series of phishing emails and have to delete them it's tiresome but not stressful - because you KNOW it's a con. Same with this scenario. In fact those of us in the know collect these tickets deliberately and find the threats pathetic - a mild source of amusement even.
Yes they leave you alone when you just ignore the letter-chain, which you've seen in full if you've read the thread you posted this on.
Why not just print out a copy of each letter in the chain and ask Dad to just play snap as each rubbishy threatogram arrives, matching our pics? You could also report the scumbags for harassment (to the Oft, Trading Standards, MP, local press, whoever) and CERTAINLY complain the the strongest terms to the Store Manager at that Supermarket.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Blue-badge scheme doesn't apply in private car-parks, just ignore
Or send a lovely email/letter to your local newspaper saying that UKPC are hounding your dad for parking in a disable bay when he's perfectly entitled to park there (as I'm assuming because he has a blue-badge he will be classed as disabled under the DDA).0
